While the COVID-19 pandemic uprooted many of our livelihoods and threatened our health, it also created room for change. It forced opportunity, innovation, and… hand sanitizer. Lots and lots of hand sanitizer.
Many individuals who work in a profession that requires them to use hand sanitizers all day long had to battle the awful smell and dried out hands. We began reaching out to hospital faculty, teachers, and several other hands-on communities to help with their hand health.
After visiting the Boulder Community Hospital we had the opportunity to donate some Stuvz to the staff in hopes of offering them, and their hands, some relief.. One of the physician’s truly loved our product and left us with this response:
“As a physician, I endorse using STUVZ for hand health.
Stuvz Hand Sanitizer offers three essential health promoting elements: hydration, sanitization, and joint health.
Stuvz hydrates. We need this hydration due to the frequency of hand sanitization required to ensure safety in a pandemic. Frequent sanitization often results in dry and irritated skin. Hyaluronic acid (HA), a key component in Stuvz, is a substance that retains moisture and is capable of binding more than three hundred times its weight in water. Therefore, using sanitizer containing HA promotes hand hydration.
Stuvz sanitizes. Alcohol based hand disinfection (AHD) is an effective, inexpensive, and practical alternative to soap and water. AHD is faster and easier to perform than hand washing with soap and water; it should be performed at every entry and exit to a new location and prior to and after any interpersonal interaction. The use of AHD has been associated with improved hand hygiene compliance rates and reductions in nosocomial infections. AHD products have rapid antimicrobial effects and are as effective as chlorhexidine against gram-positive and gram-negative organisms as well as viral pathogens. This product meets medical criteria for hand sanitization.
Stuvz protects joint health. Osteoarthritis is a debilitating disease, affecting a large portion of the population, and commonly affecting the joints of the hands. Hyaluronic acid (HA) has potential effectiveness in this disease process through its anti-inflammatory and chondroprotective effects. HA treatment shows potential that will continue to be developed through continued research. Stuvz, and the HA ingredient contained therein, has the potential to promote joint health.
This is THE HAND HEALTH product during the pandemic and to ensure ongoing hand health and wellness!”
